Every individual has been in a situation where a product or service does not work because that individual is just that, an individual that is different from the others. Individual differences can occur naturally or can come about from an accident or illness. Adapting Designs, Inc. focuses on those individual differences and provides adaptations to existing designs to allow those individuals the same Quality of Life as others by allowing them to utilize those designs that currently do not accommodate exceptions.
After years of discussion that focused on providing solutions to situations where many existing designs only accommodated the rule and not the exceptions, Adapting Designs, Inc., ADI was formed. This company was truly born from the years of passion put into another company, Fit Kit Systems, by Chris and Gayle Nurre. The many years of ensuring that the tools to provide an ergonomically correct bicycle ride were available introduced the Nurres to many situations where the exception could not be easily accommodated. Joining forces with Big Horn Management and Dan Kern, ADI focused full time on providing adaptive solutions to allow everyone to take advantage of existing designs.
Current Projects
The rehabilitation of patients with ankle, knee, hip, or other lower extremity trauma has been accomplished with existing designs that were developed to accommodate those that do not have limited mobility. We took this problem seriously and developed a device that will take existing rehab equipment and adapt it to those who have a temporary or permanent mobility loss in the lower extremities.

The inability to fully flex or bend the leg limits the choices of rehab methods that are available and slows the recovery of the patient.
The use of the Joint Mobility Crank allows the patient to begin the recovery process earlier and gives the physical therapist an option that accommodates the limited mobility of the leg.
